Players assume the roles of elite human United Nations Space Command soldiers known as "Orbital Drop Shock Troopers" or ODSTs during the events of Halo 2 and Halo 3. There are two modes of play: in the game's campaign mode, players explore the ruined city of New Mombasa to discover what happened to their missing teammates in the midst of an alien invasion.

In the "Firefight" multiplayer option, players battle increasingly difficult waves of enemies to score points and survive as long as possible; the Halo 3 multiplayer experience is contained on a separate disc packaged with ODST. Story director Joseph Staten penned a detective story utilizing film noir designs, settings, and characters. Composer Martin O'Donnell abandoned his previous Halo themes to create a quieter, jazz-influenced sound. During development, the planned expansion grew in scope to that of a full-sized game. 3. Splinter Cell: Conviction

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction is the fifth installment in the Splinter Cell video game series released in April 2010. The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, developers of Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and the sixth generation versions of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Key members of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas team, such as creative director Maxime Bland, also worked on the game. Gameloft released a handheld version of the game for the iPhone OS on May 27, 2010.

Splinter Cell: Conviction introduces a number of new gameplay features to the series, one of which is the "Mark & Execute" feature, which allows the player to mark specific targets, such as enemies or objects, and shoot them when they burst through a door or window. The player can choose to prioritize these targets, so that, for example, he could distract one guard by shooting out a light in his vicinity and then take out another guard. Another new feature is the "Last Known Position", which occurs when the player breaks the line of sight of an alerted guard.

This creates a visual silhouette of where the guard thinks Sam is, allowing the player to strategically flank his enemies. Main target subjects can use the player's abilities against them. The player can be taken hostage by the subject in co-op mode; the hostage's partner can neutralize the subject by shooting them or grabbing them off his teammate. -Wikipedia.org

2. MLB 2K10

Major League Baseball 2K10 or, in short, MLB 2K10, is a MLB licensed baseball simulation video game published by 2K Sports. MLB 2K10 was available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Nintendo DS. The game was released on March 2, 2010.

New to the series is the "My Player" feature, a career mode in which the player shepherds a player's career from the minors to the majors. Other features from the previous game have been improved or tweaked, including hitting and pitching. The game also features "MLB Today", an online ticker that tracks real-life Major League Baseball news and scores. With the MLB Today feature you can also play the same game that is being played in the real MLB. For example, if the New York Yankees are playing the Boston Red Sox and C.C. Sabathia is pitching, in the game he will be pitching along with the same lineup that is being used.

GameZone's Michael Lafferty gave the game a 7/10, saying "In the past, the 2K series was hampered by a lot of little things. The developers obviously put a lot of time in improving the overall gameplay and it shows. The new modes are fun but need some attention to iron out bugs, and there are some areas where the errors are just downright contrary to the game of baseball. On the surface, baseball seems a simple game, but to the baseball fan, the layers of complexity are what create that overall feeling that is Major League Baseball." -Wikipedia.org

Minor League Baseball And Ribs: BBQ Tips To Make Your Next Tailgating Party A Delicious Success!

While tailgating used to be strictly associated with football games, baseball fans are turning this tradition into a popular pre-game event as well. Especially for those who don't have Major League Baseball teams in their hometown, Minor League Baseball tailgating is very popular.

One of the most popular menu items at a baseball tailgating party? BBQ ribs and other all-American barbeque fare. If you're planning to pack up the meat and sauce for your next pre-game party, consider these BBQ tips to make your event a delicious success!

BBQ Ribs Don't Cook Fast - Plan Accordingly!

One of the most important BBQ tips for a tailgating event? Plan accordingly! BBQ ribs are great choices for delicious tailgate meals, but trying to grill them in a ballpark parking lot in time to see the player's warm up might be cutting it close. Cooking food quickly at tailgate events is fine for burgers, hotdogs and sausages. However, to achieve the best tasting meat, slow cooking over indirect heat is a must. For that special BBQ flavor, juicy inside and crisp outside, smoking for several hours is the only way to achieve perfection.

You could arrive at the stadium at 6:00am to get the grill going (and many fans do!). If this isn't your idea of a relaxing day though, here's one BBQ tip from the pros: do some pre-cooking at home. Smoke the ribs until almost done at home, then pack them up and finish them on the grill at the stadium.

Or, if even that seems like too much work, but you would really like to enjoy BBQ ribs at your tailgating party, considering picking up some from your favorite barbeque restaurant!

BBQ Tips - Safety First

Anytime you're grilling, it's important to follow basic safety guidelines to ensure a good time for all. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the grill you're using and be careful when handling hot charcoal, lighter fluid and lighters. Keep in mind that at most tailgating events, people are parked very close to each other; always position your grill away from anything flammable (including vehicles!) and if you can, so the smoke is downwind from patrons. Finally, always bring a fire extinguisher with you - just in case!

Fun And Games Go Hand In Hand With Tailgating

Whether you've decided to man the smoker all day, or are taking a short cut to get delicious BBQ ribs into your belly, there will be plenty of time for fun and games at a baseball tailgating event.

To make the most of this opportunity, sports goers often bring along games to play in between meals, and plenty of drinks to enjoy over a good conversation. One of the current popular games is corn hole, also known as bean bag toss. These game boards can be designed with your favorite American or National League team so you can cheer for them and egg on the rivals while you have a great time.

Bottom line: BBQ ribs and baseball tailgating just go hand in hand. Whether you spend the whole day grilling, join in games, or just sit around and chat with friends, these two favorite American pastimes are sure to be a hit with the whole family.

In Gears of War 2, the human Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) forces continue their fight against the Locust horde, who are attempting to sink all of the cities on the planet Sera by using a big riftworm to eat the ground beneath them. Sergeant Marcus Fenix leads Delta Squad into the depths of the planet to try to stop the worm from eating but instead they discover the true intent of the Locust actions. The player controls Fenix in the main mission campaign, with the ability to play cooperatively with a second player controlling Fenix's best friend and fellow Squad member Dominic "Dom" Santiago.

The game includes several existing and new multiplayer modes including five-on-five battles between human and Locust forces, and a "Horde" mode that challenges up to five players against waves of Locust forces with ever-increasing strength. New weapons and gameplay mechanics such as "hockey fights" and the ability to use downed foes as "meatshields" were added to the game. -Wikipedia.org

1. Red Faction: Guerrilla

Red Faction: Guerrilla is a third-person shooter video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ. It was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in June 2009 in North America and Europe. A Microsoft Windows version, ported by Reactor Zero, was released on September 15, 2009. The game is the third installment in the Red Faction series.

In Red Faction: Guerrilla, the player takes the role of Alec Mason as he assists the Red Faction to disrupt and overthrow the Earth Defense Force (EDF) on Mars. This is presented to the player in a third person perspective, a departure from the series' previous two games which were first person shooters. Developer Volition changed the camera perspective to help the player see and appreciate the surroundings as they are destroyed.

Much of the game centers around the game's Geomod 2.0 engine, which allows for buildings, cover, and other structures to be dynamically destroyed. In many cases, destroying buildings will leave behind salvage, the game's form of currency, which can be used along with salvage rewarded by completing missions to unlock and upgrade weaponry and technology at safehouses. During the campaign, the player is equipped with a sledgehammer-like weapon, along with up to 3 other weapons or explosive devices. The player also has the opportunity to control armed vehicles such as tanks and walkers for more destructive options. -Wikipedia.org

A peep into Baseball stats

Baseball is a favored sport in many countries and people show a keen interest in playing this sport. Just like other sports, this sport also has various factors which play a vital role. Baseball is such a game where statistics cover a large area. Baseball stats give an overview of the game in totality. There are a large number of factors on which the statistics are calculated in baseball. Baseball statistics help in checking out which baseball team is better than the other. The stats are also used by each team to check out the performance of the other team and prepare their strategy for next game.

Statistics in baseball are not only for the teams but also for the players. While selecting players for a baseball team the management of the team selects the players who have good baseball players' ratings as well good stats. A player having good stats is considered to have a higher ability than the one who doesn't have. Other than the management of a team checking out the baseball stats of the players, the opponent teams also keep a measure. Before a game is played, the pitchers and the catchers of one team make a detailed study of the batters of the opponent team to strategize their game plan for defending the opponent. Baseball stats also act as a medium through which the pitchers and the managers determine the place to pitch in the opponent. This is done by finding out the position of a player on the field.

Relative Power Index, more commonly known as RPI is a major baseball stat. The performance of the teams in Major League Baseball is determined on the basis of this RPI. The higher the RPI score of a team, the better is the performance. Thus while deciding on the position of a team; it is better to check the RPI which is an important part of the baseball stats.

The position of the players in a baseball game, be it the pitchers, the batters or the catchers, assist in determining the baseball rankings. The baseball stats are also comprised of these baseball rankings. Thus proper baseball stats can be maintained when proper baseball rankings can be obtained. Judging a baseball team or a player of the team is based on keeping track of the baseball stats. Sports enthusiasts who are interested in knowing about the current ratings and baseball rankings should keep a watch on the baseball stats regularly. Online websites are there which have lots of information on the baseball rankings, baseball ratings and also other baseball stats.
